Elevator Safety

  1. When your elevator stops at each floor is it level?
  2. If there is a power failure, does your elevator return to the lowest landing and open its doors?
  3. Do you test your emergency light and does it work when there is a power failure?
  4. Does your emergency bell work? Can others outside of the elevator hear its audible sound?
  5. Is there a phone in your elevator? Is there someone available to answer it 24 hours a day 7 days a week?
  6. Do your elevator doors have an electronic detector to reopen the doors?
  7. Do you have a preventative maintenance program that provides regular systematic visits?
